Would you play Peter Crouch for England from the kick off in the EURO's?

I've just been looking at stats...
Andy Carrol, 3 apps - 1 goal
Peter Crouch, 42 apps - 22 goals
Jermaine Defoe, 46 apps - 15 goals
Wayne Rooney, 73 apps - 28 goals
Daniel Sturridge, 2 apps - 0 goals
Danny Welback, 4 apps - 0 goals

No, but he'd be useful off the bench as he's something different and, crucially, experienced without being completely over the hill.

It saddens me Grant Holt is never in these lists lol

Grant Holt would be perfect for the English squad. He is physical enough to give any CB pairing in the Euros fits and he's created goals out of nothing at Norwich. And with a midfield of square pegs any striker on England isn't going to get anything that resembles decent service and England needs a striker like him whose pressure forces defenses to make mistakes.

That being said not sure why Crouch is not on the team.

Crouch (31 years old) isn't going for the same reason Holt (31) isn't, Davies (35) isn't, Zamora (31) isn't and Carroll (23) is.

The media and fans have been telling England for a decade to pick more younger players, to trust potential over experience and they've finally listened.

So please explain A.Cole, J.Terry, F.Lampard and some others then please....

Because they want a mix of experience and youth?.

I mean are you honestly saying that if you pick one thirty year old then you clearly aren't looking for youth in the rest of the squad? Yes, there's five or six older players there but equally there's about five or six positions where it's clear that they've picked younger players on purpose.

What possible advantage does Carroll have over Crouch other than his age?
