Pointless thread and not sure why I even thought of it, but if you could put one of these players into the current Everton squad in their prime, who would it be and why?

I hate people who say gordo Ronaldo was better due to the fact that he played earlier.

Not sure I can pick, you can't go far wrong with either to be honest. Brazilian Ronaldo was part of one of the greatest international sides of all time and won pretty much everything there was to win in football. Cristiano could do similar, but I doubt he'll ever get his hands on a World Cup

Portugese one.

The stats don't lie, and he's more of an athlete. Can hold the ball up better and score goals from distance.

Both unbelievable, like.

Going off the stats, it has to be Portuguese

Portugese one.

The stats don't lie

Real Ronaldo

1994–1996 PSV 46 games, scoring 42
1996–1997 Barcelona 37 games, scoring 34
1997–2002 Inter Milan 68 games, scoring 49
2002–2007 Real Madrid 127 games, scoring 83
2007–2008 AC Milan 20 games, scoring 9
2009–2011 Corinthians 31 games, scoring 18
1994–2011 Brazil 98 games, scoring 62

C Ronaldo

2003–2009 Manchester United 196 games, scoring 84
2009– Real Madrid 149 games, scoring 163
2003– Portugal 109 games, scoring 47

The stats tell me both are goal machines. Analysing beyond the stats tells me that the real Ronaldo scored at will for any club in any competition against any opposition. He was also good enough to win the World Cup for his country, breaking Gerd Müller's goals record on the way.

C Ronaldo's domination is impressive, but it's not as impressive as his older namesake. If he dominates World Cup 2014, then he is arguably nearing the level of Ronaldo.

It's like the Messi vs Maradona debate. Maradona is still winning this by a margin.

I would want Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima for Everton every time.

Also, there is a very convincing argument that Ronaldo's style of play encouraged the best out of his team-mates. He was a marauder and a poacher. This left plenty room for other creative types to play off him (Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, Figo, Zidane among many others).

C Ronaldo's style is so brutally-dominating that it leaves no room for other creative team-mates to work with him. Even Özil had quiet games alongside him, whereas Özil playing just behind the real Ronaldo would be heavenly. Rooney only blossomed again after C Ronaldo left.

Also, see Portugal...he's dominating to a fault. A one-man team is not the kind of player you want for Everton.
