There doesnt seem to be a great pool of talent though at the moment in Aussie cricket, your comments about world cricket not being strong are correct but its always been that way certainly in my 30 odd years of following the game one teasm mles apart from the rest of the pack then a couple of "good" teams behind tham, the rest more or less aming numbers up.

I dont think however that the Aussies will follow the windies into obscurity but i certainly think it#ll be a generation or more before they come anywhere close to having a good consistant side ready, the lads going into the side at the moment just dont hold a candle to whats gone before in the last 20 years or so.

No, that's true and the aura surrounding the old team is well gone. People aren't afraid of them any more. Hopefully we'll have it in us to beat SA to the top and achieve that aura ourselves in the coming years.

Agree with you Bruce but the question is do we have that "killer" mentality?

I hope so i really do but either way interesting times ahead for sure.

If i may add for all the whippings handed out by the Aussies it was a privilege watching that wonderful side over the years as much as the West Indies side before them

Something has to be said for the strength of the South Africans here, in Smith, Amla, Steyn and Morkel they have 4 of the best players in their roles in the business, and then there's Kallis, an absolute machine. If only they could find a good spinner.
