Hoping to move into a flat next week and was just wondering how extensive are the credit checks the agencies do? I haven't got the best credit rating and i'm hoping there not going to decline me, i have no ccj's or anything just late payments...

They'll do an experian or similar check on you mate, same as if you were applying for any form of credit agreement.

A couple of late payments shouldn't be enough to shaft your application.

At worst they'll as for an extra month's rent as deposit. You'll get this back as well though.

ie: £600 rent + £600 deposit is the normal, they'd ask for £1200 deposit.

It's not as bad as applying for credit.

It's a very basic search. Most done through Equifax rather then Experian. Experian is usually used for credit card applications, but it depends on the estate agent.

Unless you've been horrifically bad I wouldn't worry about this part of it mate.

You'll prob be sound its just a scam they do, so they can charge you about £150 pp for the privillage. If you failed they' just ask for a guarentour. Then you usually have to give 1 month deposit and a months rent in advance, then when they've had the money and you've moved in they don't want to know about any repairs or maintenance that needs doing or they drag there feet about these things.
