As it's them I literally couldn't care less, but if I was Coutinho I would be absolutely furious at being denied a chance to move to Barcelona. This chance will only come up once, if they don't get him now Barca don't seem like the type of team who will wait around and come back again, they'll move on to someone else.
If they sell him they lose a quality player, if they keep him they have a disgruntled player on they hands. It's lose lose for that lot, delightful!

Whatever happened to the 75 million they had for keita?

If they stopped being tits and sold then they could have bought keita for 100 million and still had enough left for van dijk at 65 on deadline day and enough for a cout replacement (pulicic?) At 35 and the team would be better for it.

They want to look like European powerhouses mate, the sort of team who buys big - not the sort of team who will be bullied into selling.

HOWEVER.

They aren't anymore, and they will.

A better question is whatever happened to Moneyball - after all, they bought him for less than £10 million and could sell him for more than £120 million.

They're treating him as if he was Messi and utterly irreplaceable when he absolutely isn't. Don't get me wrong, Coutinho is a great player but keeping him is not worth as much to them as they think it does when selling him could mean 3 or 4 top quality signings (including his replacement) to strengthen their team overall. To be honest if I was Liverpool I'd have sold him once the figure got to £100m if not before just so it gives you plenty of time to find replacements and strengthen the team.

Where's the Coutinho money Bill, I mean FSG?

Sell just before the window closes and don't spend all the money. Good financially but doesn't make the fans happy. Essentially following the recent Everton model but on a much bigger scale.

I hope that bad back doesn't cause trouble with a medical when he goes.
