fozzy

Player Valuation: £60m
so just asking "IF" the board went full out and gave moyes say.... £xxxm this summer do you think he could get us in the champs league and keep us there?

if you think yes then why hasnt the board invested?? and it wouldnt be a leeds as moyes is supposed to be a god! (he is in his 10th season ffs so the board must trust him!) so why havent they!

if you think no then why is he still here??

if niether of both then we are happy to be mid table and having a year where we look ace every now and then ??

He's built an amazing team with almost absolutely nothing compared to what other teams in the EPL are getting. I can only imagine what he'd accomplish with funds. I don't think he's the greatest manager when it comes to tactics, but i do believe he could get us in the champions league for sure.

With enough funds, and plenty of talent on the paddock, even I could get Everton to the CL! ;o)

Personally, I rate Moyes, but I think he's good with bringing players through, not using established players & molding them into a team. This season's squad was "the one" according to some, but the wheels fell off yet again. I often think hypothetically, of him Managing City. I just don't think he could compete with all those ego's. Most of those players, or the ones we want, will have experienced success and I could easily see them thinking "Well, what has he won?" when he's trying to get his point across.

I'd like to see Moyes build a CL squad rather than have one bought for him because we would be a better team, and he would be a better Manager for it. If that means a few more years at 7th, then so be it. I think he's heading in this direction, but he desperately needs Board support with cash to achieve this.

I honestly don't know. When Moyes spends money he's very hit and miss. Bilyaletdinov for example.

We'll never find out unfortunately, but my head tells me that Moyes would be a failure at a "big" club tactically more than anything, as his mindset is all wrong. But who really knows.

I'd settle for seventh, but hope for better. Especially with some investment, and a few solid cup runs would be appreciated.

There's a difference between "settling for 7th" and "happy with 7th".

How could anyone be "happy" with never winning anything? :S

I see what your saying, but we shouldn't have to settle for 7th, the fact fans are saying top 6 etc is a fact that we don't see Everton as a threat anymore as much as we should

Depends how much money the board would be giving him, traditionally his signings for over £7m have been fairly poor in general, so its whether or not he could attract big name players to a team without European Football. And to make us capable of challenging for a Champions League team he'd need at least £60m, and then with Spurs, Liverpool, City and Arsenal spending, even that would be a stretch.

In other words we'd need spending of Sheikh Khaldoon proportions, and i'm not sure i'd want Moyes spending it.

We're a way off Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool as it is, we're not a top six team anymore, thats a given.
