Could a fans group lobby Barclay's?

Probably a ****e idea, but say We got 10, 000 Evertons fans earning an average of 300 quid per week, pledging to switch there bank accts. to Barclay's, that's 3 million worth of new business per week for Barclay's [or 156 million per annum], could this be used to leverage more favourable terms for Everton?

Like I say, probably a **** idea, but just something that popped up after a few Friday afternoon beers.

They would just use our money to loan to our club, and gradually turn it into their money, and ultimately their club.

Why is it Barclays fault?

They are a bank, not a charity.

Im fairly sure they aware that at least 1 our Board Members is very rich, so im not quite sure why its their fault we have borrowed and sold anything not nailed down.

in 11 Years not 1 Member of the Everton Board has invested 1 single penny of their own money.

I'm not laying the blame at anyones door here.

Would a commercial tie in between the bank and the clubs massive fanbase/potential customer-base, be of no financial benefit to the club?

Correctumundo. The culprits in all this are the people who are not investors but using the club as a form of Hedge Fund and even making money out of it. Scandalous.
Hey we could phone up Alan jackson and question it but we would be patronised and told Kenwright loves the club etc etc. We could write to the 'investigative' journalists at the Liverpool Echo and they will tell you things are great.
Thats why we have groups like the Blue Union who got pssed off being patronised and cheated out of THEIR and OUR heritage. We dont own shares in the club but we are a part of it.

But this idea is interesting though or something along those lines. Just shows the commercial ineptitude of the people at Goodison that its fans who are thinking up ideas....

It's certainly an idea, perhaps the original post was a bit far-fetched, but who knows, with a bit of militancy and the right mindset, fans could maybe instigate that.

It could be done informally of course. We could all just switch our accts. to Barclays and become known as "The Barclays Blues." They'd ****ing think twice about calling debts in if they knew 30,000 plus Evertonians were united and using their bank.

It's like they say; if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Or am I talkin' shabite again? Probably, I am on my eigth beer.

I would only ever put my money in Barclays Blood Bank if it was a straight choice between that and supporting the red****e. And I'd still do it with a heavy heart.

Not even for the blues? Would Barclays bankrupt you or something? Maybe make you take out a second mortgage?

i recently withdrew all(!?) my money and closed my barclays account and was asked by manager the reason why so i told him it was because I'm am evertonian and they are c**ts!!

Exactly, they don't give a shabit. Give a shabite about a Barclays Blue Union. :paranoid smiley:

They have feck all chance of getting my business account, due to the enormous charges. I get free business banking online elsewhere and have no desire to give them 30 odd quid p.m. for an account, before there are even any transactions.

If that's the case and you are self-employed, then I can fully understand that. But as a basic account to have your wages paid into, would it be so much a sacrifice to attempt such a groundbreaking fan movement?

I am bladdered by the way, la.
