I don't think we have a thread for this yet so putting this out there for ideas about food, nutrition etc. I know fuk all about any of it really so will post questions in here every now and then.

First one: do you have to cook turmeric first before eating it, or can you just sprinkle it into any cooked food?

It’s also being used more and more in sports nutrition too - natural anti inflammatory.

I take it every morning and it deffo helps with the stiffness associated with running.

Hal Robson Kanu has a very good sideline business going away from footy - Tumeric Co.

Thanks mate I'll check it out. Do you take supplements or cook with it?

It’s capsules mate and it’s mixed with black pepper to aid absorption. I take it with breakfast.

Have a look at Hal Robson Kanu’s site. He reckons it saved his career, hence why he started his company.

I don’t buy his stuff though, as it’s mega expensive !

Like I said it deffo works, as I’m much stiffer on the days I forget to take it.

I take cod liver oil every few days as well and that can usually ease my joints.

I take that too.

I’ve tried nearly every natural supplement under the sun over the years and I think some of them may give you the edge if you were an elite athlete, but for everyone else they’re pretty much an expensive placebo.

Turmeric, as a supplement take capsules, it stains everything it touches. If you want to use it 'raw' mix with olive oil as a dressing, put some toasted cumin seed, mustard seed in it for a nice crunch, will keep for weeks in a sealed container.
Don't put too much into your rice ( or even when boiling potatoes) because it goes beyond luminous and can interfere with the air traffic :)
