Convenient news?

Well NY Cosmos aren't an MLS Franchise & have been told that they won't be, even if they had they'd have to stump up over $70,000,000 to enter.

All they are really is a brand that is known worldwide, but as they aren't in the league that matters there & are in the NASL then it's a bit like buying a well known Conference Outfit. Unless they could get together a load of star names to go on a bit of a Globetrotter Type Tour then there's nothing really there for them.

We could well be being duped though again & it couldve been sold to The Mosh with "you wont have to put anything in, theyre mugs," only time will tell I suppose but they must havce duped Koeman as well if that's the case.

And to respond to this.

if you wrote the past 10 years out for certain clubs, it wouldn't sound too foolish that, i mean jose wins the league, gets sacked for taking chelsea to bottom 3 and then the following year takes over at united!

Sometimes real life is better than fiction haha

Real life is definitely stranger than fiction.

This thread will be a bit of a ramble sorry as it comes from an idea I had that i haven't thought all the way through but here goes.

Is it possible, that even now under the new regime we are being manipulated into believing and buying into the club far more than we should be? My suggestion is the conveniently placed news stories that appear over and over again year after year, before and after the takeover of sorts, nothing has changed. The suggestion that certain news breaks to hamper and encourage the fan base the way they want to, and we all buy it as mugs.

I’ll show my workings here so you know I haven’t gone mad! Haha

1. Team struggling in the season this year, bits of news leaks about our ground move and the dockside stadium what we always wanted. The team on the pitch is struggling and losing but off the field suddenly it is all hopeful news for the future. Well placed snippets to alter the mood of the fan base, even just a little.

2. Moshiri take over, the month before season ticket renewals. All of a sudden news leaks of war chests and we have pretty much 3 months on and off talking of having money to spend and huge sums to really put us back where we belong. So when they are selling us season tickets, ‘nothing will be the same’ and then come the summer we spend nothing again. Whether the money was there or not is beside the point because the only evidence we have is that we didn’t spend anything.

3. Going back a few years ago, Moyes and Kenwright both in the media, at around season ticket renewal time (again) talking of getting all our business done early this summer, get it out of the way. We all go out and renew, looks really promising off the back of the season right? End result we sell 3 players on deadline day, make that cash disappear and loan two misfits in to replace them.

Which leads me to the latest news of the MLS thing. Granted I don’t believe that to be true, but then I don’t believe the transfer money to be true either, arseholes and opinions as they say. But the point I wanted to touch on was when this has come out, the week before the window opens. Random news story that probably has no merit, but some fans will believe it, and if the story grew at all and we then didn’t spend in the window, you can tie them both together as a fan, before the obviously jarg story becomes jarg.

All my point is here, and I didn’t want to do a giant list of examples, is that do the club manipulate the fan base far more than most other clubs? There is dropping good news at a bad time for the positive effect sure, glad of that. But to do it all the time, year on year, every time we need a pick up or our expectations dampened a news story just appears somewhere, certain things are said officially by the club, no matter how conveniently they go away or don’t happen in the future.

Disclaimer- Oh and i know the easy answer is to dismiss anything if questioned, like the summer and transfer wise but evidence can only be evidence if made public, could have bid 100 million for messi for all we know, evidence isn't there for us. So i am basing the opinion on what has actually happened, not what tried to happen here etc

But your not. Your basing it on all you can see. Not on what has actually happened.

You think all stuff is done in public?
Really think the club care about season ticket renewals when TV money eclipses it tenfold ?

The British government has been doing this sort of thing for decades. Not surprised a football team follows suit, the public believe any old tripe time and time again. If you become savvy then the public programming is to dismiss you as being a misery or a negative person. Its why advertising works.

QFT.

I'm just glad that Moshiri has written all the debt off, and that we are now totally debt free.
