Specifically to me I'm looking for a budget smartphone atm android based. Like the look of the Honor 9 Lite and was wondering if anyone has it did they find it a good purchase?. Ideally want to spend <€200/£160 so if anyone has any recs in that budget I'd appreciate it. Only PAYG, unlocked network.

We got the lad a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 for $230NZD. Great phone for the price....beefy 8-core processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage and a 6" 1080*2160 IPS LCD screen. Great battery and it has a microSD slot for more storage

The motorola G series pretty much bosses that pricepoint - think it's the G6 now. Had a G4 previously that was great and the G6 seems to be well quoted.

Yep, almost anything from Xiaomi is comparative to any of the larger suppliers ( Apple/Samsung ). I would recommend a 2nd hand Pixel if you can manage it?

Looks like a good phone decent spec too. I use my phone as a hotspot the Honor is LTE and redmi is 4g. Will there be any differance in speeds do you know?.

Had a motorola before and swore never again. Maybe 20 years is too long to be holding a grudge though lol

Bought a Ulefone T1 6gb ram as a present last Christmas from coolicool's eu warehouse for less than that

Pros - good build quality, very good spec for price, good case included, looks and feels quality
Cons - shuts down of its own volition from time to time, think it took a few days longer than expected to arrive

Happy overall and you could probably get a newer model now within budget
