Basically got into a bit of a heated argument with a friend on facebook last night when I asked him, as a sign of respect, to remove a post linking the Dark Knight Rises to the Sandy Hook shootings. I must admit I seen my arse a bit as I thought it was totally disrespectful.
For those of you that may be unaware, there is a photograph doing the rounds from what I can assume is pre-production photo from TDKR, which clearly shows Sandy Hook on the map within Gotham City; now in the film (1hr 58min in) Jim Gordon is talking and you can see the map, which only by freeze framing and zooming in could you even see the words 'Sandy Hook'.
Now the conspiracy theorists are now linking the TDKR premier shooting to this tragedy, stating that the 2 guys were working together, that this Lanza guy was present at the first tragedy and this was is way of carrying on the original massacre.
The reason I got so annoyed was because things like this go viral, and if i was in the position that some of the families are in, the last thing I would want seeing doing the rounds is things like this; i believe they should be left totally alone and its more of a moral issue than anything else to remove the post
