Now that the dust is settling following the departure of both our manager and club captain, who today has signed up as coach at Utd, how much of this was pre-ordained. We had a season with a manager who was not going to sign a new contract, a captain who announced long before the season was over that he was leaving to extend his playing career then out of nowhere says he was retiring.

In Manchester it is open knowledge that Rooney wanted to leave when he knew that Moyes was replacing Fergusson, that was back in March, most accept that he will depart. There are many other little snippets pointing to the conclusion that many people were well aware of what was going on behind the scenes other than us fans. His refusal to sign a contract freed United from having to pay us any compensation, did the departing back room staff do the same thing as no compensation has been mentioned for their services either

Moyes for years banged the drum of loyalty to this club, recall his reaction when Lescott left, yet he appears to have acted in such a duplicitous manner. It is simple enough to say its business but having supported the guy for the majority of his tenure here I feel utterly insulted to the point that I feel nothing other than total contempt for the guy and what he stood for, he has proven to be a back stabber and I wish him nothing but ill luck. He has stripped this club of our major back room figures without any regard for the fans, many of which adored him.

I've opened this thread in order for GOT members to monitor what goes on with him in the coming season and to post up any other potential links that may point towards

good post that mate.

Not so sure. If what Moyes had done was exceptional then I'd agree, but it's the norm for managers to take their coaching teams with them, just as it is commonplace that when managers are sacked, so too are the coaches that worked with them.

So him taking Round et al with him to United is not a surprise to me. Both Moyes and Neville were at the club much longer than is the norm in modern football, and as neither is a born and bred Blue I'm not sure the loyalty card can be tossed at them.

The Moyes era has moved on, time for us to do so too.

Basically Bruce the loyalty card is being thrown back in the face of the guy who used it. Have you heard of compensation being paid for any of our staff, which is also the norm?

Oh David. I feel like I've broken up with a long term girlfriend. We've tried to do it amicably and at first it was fine and we were friends, but all of a sudden the cracks appear and the resentment creeps in.

Just been speaking to my Man United supporting work colleague.

Not impressed with Moyes at all!

Quite funny to listen to actually.

The biggest club in the country did not decide within 24 hours who the wanted as there new manager

Moyes people would have been sounded out about Ferguson quiting and him being the number 1 pick

Moyes ambition was always to manage Man u, he has said so himself and declared he would do so one day when manager of Preston.

He has used Everton as a stepping stone.

As the OP says, not a cat in hells chance this was done in the space of a few days, Moyes has shafted Everton for compensation by not signing a new contract to obviously get himself a better deal at Man U.

He has been cool, calculated and the chinese whispers over the years have proven to be true.

Couple of fuming Man Utd fans at work too. It's never nice to see a Manager go, take your old Captain and back room staff. I think it's been on the cards for a while, yes, but I'm actually not fussed that any of them have left to be perfectly honest. Not that I wanted them gone, just thought the time was right. He's possibly just lost a bit of respect from me on a couple of things

But we're looking set to do the same to Wigan, so it's all swings and roundabouts or whatever the phrase is

This

Ever since the split, you've been telling yourself that you're better off without and you bear her no malice. Now she's started asking for stuff from the house, staking claims on your treasured possessions and you've just seen her up town holding hands with her new boyfriend and laughing in a carefree manner.

You bitterly regret that chance you had at some cousin's wedding to nail her drunk and emotionally needy but drop dead gorgeous younger sister.
