I was worried about Lukaku's first half performance v WBA and voiced my opinion...it was bouncing off his shins and everything. He then got 2 and reminded me how good a finisher he is.

I welcomed Cleverley with open arms, I even used to like Pistone. Very rare I turn on a player, the last one I remember calling as completely useless was Nicolas Alexandersson.

I watched multiple McGeady YouTube videos and convinced myself we had a player on our hands.

I now know YouTube scouting is not the best method for discovering player ability.

Going back, I would have to say Marcus Bent.

Weird one I know, but understand the circumstances. Rooney was on his way out, we were expecting a fair bit of money and instead of blistering out a few million on someone half decent - we sign Marcus Bent.

He was cracking in that 2004/05 side, worked his socks off and made a lot of room for the likes of Cahill to exploit.
