Confederations Cup 2017

There are bound to be some teething problems and some abuse but I'm totally in favour of it.

yep, and if it means they bring in the rule about stopping the clock (do they do that in the case of a video replay)? then i'm all for it.

... so long as they don't cut a game to 60 minutes.

It's mad because they clearly didn't need a video replay to see that was a goal, milking it for all they can.

That's the only issue with using tech, almost every decision will be checked for infringements as the referees will be blasted if they have it available and don't use it. Soon as a high profile mistake is made that will be it.

I've only had a chance to watch the opening game...how bad at football is New Zealand? I have never seen a worse international footie team (at a tournament's finals)

Tahiti was at the confed cup in 2013. They played 3 matches and had a -23 goal difference. At least New Zealand can squeak a draw from time to time.
