I don't think anybody is arguing that UEFA isn't the stiffest competition (in total), nor that they have the hardest time with only 13 slots, but please give it a rest. Nobody in CONCACAF had a -53 gd in their group. Nobody was -23, nor -25, nor -30, neither -19 nor -21 as well. I enjoy your ignorance as well as everyone else, but there is a limit.

US Virgin Islands had GD -38 in second round ....against other minnows. All the last place teams in each group had high (negative) GD in the second round. There was even a -19 in the 3rd round.
Imagine dropping the top 6 teams into round 2 instead of giving them the buy to round 3.

CONCACAF would have just as many or more outrageous negative GDs if qualifying was set up like UEFA.

Indeed, but it's not. That's the difference. Mexico's form in the final round was poor, but it's not like they faced San Marino or Liechtenstein.

Aye. The Hex this year was 5 top 50 teams and one top 100 team. No San Marinos here.
