Just wondering if any of you know anything about computers.

Recently bought a desktop for the first time in years, it came bare so had to install a operating system (windows 7) when i did this it asked me where i wanted to install it, either my SSD (59.5gb) or my other one which is 2TB.

I chose the SSD and set it up no problems etc, anyway i was just browsing around my computer to check if everything was okay, and i saw that i didn't have my 2TB on my computer for some reason, i just had my SSD.

Don't know why it's not showing but it's very frustrating, i thought it might be something to do with the driver disks i got so i put them in and it wasn't anything to do with them.

I'm not greatly computer literate so for someone like me this can be very confusing!

spent over a grand on it now and even though it runs really smoothly, it has been extremely frustrating!

wouldnt be surprised if you dont ahve the tabs right in the hard drive. Look at the tabs in the back and do a search for 'master/slave hard drive'. Your secondary would have to be the slave and your SSD has to be your master.

Okay i've found the memory in it (in disk management) and i have right clicked to initialize it. It's popped up asking me if i want to use the following partitioning style

MBR (Master reboot record) or

GPT ( GUID partition table)

and has asked me to select a disk.. with disk 1 ticked.

Any further help lads?

Set your house on fire, it'll make you homeless but you wont have the computer problem anymore.

Intialize it as MBR. This format, which has been around since the DOS days, is good enough for any drive below 2.2 terabytes, You need GPT for drives larger than that. Hope this helps :)

Click on Start ....Then Right Click on My Computer .. then choose manage (the option with the shield next to it) .... A computer management (you may have to enter your password 1st) window should appear .. from the options on the left hand side click on Disk management ... a list of available disks should appear..... right click on your second drive and then select , mark partition as active ... it's been a while since ive done this so a little sketchy

Another way of getting to the window Sid James is referring to, Control panel > Administrative Tools (if it doesn't show up, switch to small icons) > Storage on the left-hand menu > Disk Management should be nested under it.

Cheers mate, best of luck.
