Hey! I'm an American fan and I'll be in Liverpool (first time) and at the game on September 12, arriving the night of the 10th. I'll be traveling alone and wondering if anyone will be available? I'm looking to enjoy the full night before/day of experience! Plus I also don't know any songs. Plus any advise will be helpful

Hi mate. If you get down to the County Road area near Goodison several hours before kick off, you won't be alone. I won't be at the Chelsea game for work commitments but try somewhere like The Winslow on Goodison Road for a drink before the game and it will be full of blues, perhaps some singing too!

Plenty to explore around the city while you're here.

Anyone down to grab some beers the night before?

You can meet plenty of the regulars from here in The Lisbon most nights, I'm told ;)
Yeah go there pre game mate. Just to make you aware though, when you go into the toilet cubicle, it's not like your typical American ones! You need to put your 'pecker' (as I believe you Americans call it) through the small hole in the dividing wall. That's just how it works there. Enjoy

Only real advice I'd give you is to make sure you keep away from Stanley Park after the game. It's where those of us who 'run' with a 'firm' [our slang terms for hooligan groups] meet up with opposition firms and it gets pretty wild - knives and stuff. We keep it all in there though so you should be okay if you keep away

Thanks for the advice. Not trying to have a Green Street weekend. Haha

Welcome mate, hope you have a great time over here. The Winslow is a good pub for pre-match drinks literally 10 feet away from the old lady (Goodison).

Sound. Am always interested in what makes someone from abroad becomes an Evertonian?
When I was just getting into watching football regularly, I was living in Japan, so FOX was the only English speaking football channel, they showed a few everton games each week for a month. And that's all it took. Fell in love with the club, the history, the identity, it's amazing.

It cant be fought mate. ;)
