I played for a 7 aside team in Winchester named after these!!

We were ace actually.

He was a Plumber who was a runner ( amateur as they all were in those days )

But he wasn't a patch on the Incredible Wilson, amongst whose records ( in the 50's mind )

30ft longjump
20 ft polevault
9sec 100m
3m 30sec for the mile
1hr 59m 59sec for the marathon

He was also 200yrs old and had a heartbeat ( resting ) of 20 b/min

Now that's what you call an athlete... sadly he was drug assisted, but, as the Chinese maintain, natural organic supplements don't count as drugs. He got his herbal potion from a greatful hermit in the wilds of Yorkshire after he saved his life.

Nice one mate,but Alf would have a meal of fish and chips and beat all comers on the track,what an athlete, they reckon his dad was pretty good as well.:)
