Have got into my local comedy scene in Belfast alot over the last few years. Some of my favourites would be Colin Geddis, Paddy Mc Donnell, Mickey Bartlett, Andrew Ryan and a special mention for Paul Currie but hes very abstract and is more performance based comedy.

Some who i listen to on podcasts that i haven't seen live yet like Connor Keys, Ciaran Bartlett etc.

It's the exaggeration, the same way Bishop, kopites and everyone who acted for Carla Lane do it.
We fought back against that stereotyping in the 80s & 90s and these bells use it to make money, not even ironically.

Scouse comedy is funny when you’re in the pub or with just mates, taking the mick out of each other or someone else

Forced into a stand up set, it’s rarely funny

Especially not these new ones that just go “DYA SELL LEMO DO YA YEAH? MAD THAT LAD. BOSS TEETH.”

Never seen them live so might be doing them a disservice but it's like their entire set is audience interaction. No craft to it and I imagine there's a lot of recycled gags as they scan the front row looking for a good fit for their stuff.

On a par with the hacks you see doing stand-up in Benidorm and Blackpool 4 times a night.
