I don't call them the Toffees myself, but the story of the Toffeelady was how I got my GF to support Everton :P

She had a limited enough interest until we signed Bily...she seems really impressed by him... :dodgy: :lol:
 


yes it has a purpose, as the club are the Toffees, always have been, always will.

For the uneducated, this came about from a sweet shop called Old Mother Knobletts I think, close to the ground, that sold merchandise on match days, and so it went from there.

I like Toffees as a nickname, what I can't stomach is the half-wit hacks who come up with the crap headlines whenever times are bad.

"Everton go through a sticky patch"

"Blues can't defend for Toffee"

"defense unwrapped by john Smith"

"Moyes chews over another defeat"

etc etc.

It can have it's drawbacks.
