Nice one lerd,
Let's see mine
Starter:
Cream of Tomato Soup with tarragon, and a shop-bought 12-grain bread with melted gruyere (cheese optional for Vegans)
OR
Toasted/Grilled Goat cheese discs with candied walnuts and cranberries on a bed of mixed green salad, various dressings available, all store bought stuff but organic (Tuscan Italian, Bleu Cheese, Ranch, French, can do a decent Oil-and-vinegar myself)
OR
Rustic rolls (bought from local bakery like) with Israeli Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar, with an optional side of prosciutto
Main:
Lamb neck fillets, rolled in cumin and rock salt (cooked a bit like steak), with a side of chickpea, coriander and apricot salsa and lemon cous-cous
OR
Vegetarian burrito, with home-made pico-de-gallo, yellow rice, black (turtle) beans, peppers, onions. Corn, sauteed mushrooms and sour cream/yoghurt all optional. Side of home-made guacamole with tortilla chips.
OR
Bacon-wrapped scallops with Lemon cous-cous, sliced avocado and spicy mayo
Additional option side:
Maple-candied smoked bacon
Dessert:
Blueberry, Cherry or Golden raisin Scones with Creme Fraiche or butter (Lurpak)
OR
Orange-clove chocolate chip cookies
OR
A bit of Ben-and-Jerry's Half-Baked Ice Cream
Optional dessert sides:
Hot Toddy
Irish Coffee
As you can see, I don't really have a "theme" for the night, basically because this is some of the best things I do and I know I wouldn't come across anything new in the night that would throw me off. I'd make the Scones and Cookies ahead of time like, as I would with the tomato-tarragon soup (is that cheating?).
