remember watching snooker in black and white at my nans. no idea how she knew what was going on. Also remember having a remote control for the vhs video but cable was only 1m long so had to get up to go use the remote.

first time i caught sight of a colour tv was looking through the window of a pub, watching T rex on TOTP.
My auntie was the first one in are family to get one, walked up from Kirkdale to Sparrowhall just to watch a sci fi film, Flight to Mars.

First thing I watched on colour TV was the opening game of the 1970 World Cup. Hosts Mexico v Soviet Union. We watched at my aunts house we didn't get colour for another few years.

As Mexico played in green and the Soviet Union played in red it would have been rubbish in black and white.

Incidentally I watched the final at Butlin's, Pwllheli.
The 70 world cup for me too.

Went there on my first ever holiday, a Pontins now I believe.

My grandparents had a black and white they used til 2001 for the sake of a cheaper license.
