Eh? They play football? Not well I might add.

College is all well and good but NFL all the way.

Unless I just watch the Redzone channel (no commericals) I can't watch a NFL game without TIVO anymore. There are so many stoppages, commericals, replays, more commericals, time outs, more replays. Going to a NFL game is just an awful experience now. You pay anywhere from $80-250 just to watch a bunch of people standing around waiting for the commerical timeout to end. Also the rule changes where its pretty much illegal to hit a QB at all is just ridiculous.

A college game has almost twice the plays of an NFL game. The crowds are 1 million times better. The offenses are more varied and every game matters. Its a much more fun game to watch.

I think MD could be a sleeper team they really came on at the end of last year. I have no idea why they fired Fridge for Edsall though. Fridge always recruited well and when he had a QB (like MD does now) his offenses at MD and GT were as good as any in the nation. One thing about Edsall though, his teams don't make mistakes so at least in the short term (he's not known as much of a recruiter though that could be b/c of UConn) it might be a benefit. The offense will lose something but the defense should be much better.

WVU (my school)-MD will be a big game for both teams, the winner of that game in my opinion will finish up with 10 wins.

Interesting first weekend. It's always nice to see Notre Dame and Oregon lose. I just wish WSU lost their opener as well... can't have it all, I suppose.
