My memory fails me often - which Everton manager was it that decided to have a club captain and a team captain? One for on pitch leadership and one for general team leadership? I seem to recall HK mkIII making Duncan Ferguson one and Dave Watson the other, however I may be wrong on the specifics.
My point is, would this benefit us currently? Would making Tim Howard club captain still have made him feel useful in the dressing room with Martinez more able to leave him out at an earlier stage (with Jags still in his current role)? Or would making Jags 'club captain' and making Stones 'team captain' persuade him to stay a little longer? Would it help or hinder leadership on the pitch? Maybe, maybe not, just wondering on a Thursday morning.
Hypothetically, say the same thing was implemented today - who would you have as team and club captains? Jags as club captain and Baines as team captain?
