Climbing Snowdon

Went up the Rydd Dhu path to Snowdon last year with the kids - thought that was a nice way up. Looked reasonably quick, as well, although it took us all day with the youngsters.
Might have a dig at Crib Goch with the eldest next month if the weather is there.

Thanks for all the advice lads n lasses.
Loved that was so much fun but much tougher than I expected.
Arse cheeks are in agony here on the couch. Got there for 7am so avoided the crowds which were heavy on our way back down. Amazing views, boss scenery. Would recommend to anyone who hasnt done it.

Doing this on Saturday with the Mrs.

Never walked up a mountain before although I am physically fit.

Llanberis is the easiest but takes 5 hours, anyone done it before and think the Pyg Track is doable for a beginner?

Also any tips on what to bring? Likelihood of getting lost etc? Am I heck bringing a compass.
As a beginner, walk the Llanberis route. It's the most defined, the least steep and there's a cafe half way up if you're flagging. You won't get lost and won't need more than food and water.

Pyg track is tough going if you aren't a walker.
