Scarey isn't it.

I've been trying to get up a triple extension ladder to my roof but there's no one to hold it.

Big roof 8.5m up.

I've got onto the third ladder of the extension a couple times, but then it gets more bouncy, and more narrow....

now I've come in to "google" how to overcome fear of ladders.

Its not the height that neccesarily bothers me. It's the increasing level of impact on the ground as I get higher up.

Anyway. Any tips? or is it better to pay the local roofer £100 to fix the tile?

They're even scarier when you have to carry up a Hod full of bricks with you.

Just googled that:

On 17 March 1999, Hull climbed onto the roof of his house in Winchelsea, near Rye, to adjust his television aerial during the Champions League football match between Internazionale and Manchester United. In his attempt to improve reception, he fell through an adjoining greenhouse. The 63-year-old entertainer suffered a severe skull fracture and chest injuries. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Conquest Hospital in Hastings. Following an inquest, the East Sussex Coroner, Alan Craze, recorded a verdict of accidental death

Luckily, I haven't got a greenhouse, so do you think the mission is a go?

Do you own an Emu ??

Well whatever you do mate please be careful, is it worth the risk of injury for 100 quid

That's what I told my wife, but I think I'm expendable.

Plus there's a worrying amount of fluid under my car. (Brake cables?)

I've put the ladder away.

I'll wait until my elderly neighbour comes home. I don't think he's strong enough to hold it with my weight going up it, but I should be able to support his frail frame if I send him up it.

fingers crossed!

Off to the garage now to see what's leaking. What a crap day.

I'd pay the bloke tbh, if you are nervous you are more likely to fall to your death.

luckily I have the benefit of living next to a roofer so any problems I have he sorts out.
