Thank you for helping us promote our upcoming CLIC Sargent Backward Run, taking place on Sunday 10th of June on Liverpool Pier Head. CLIC Sargent is the UK leading charity for children and young people with cancer.
We are looking for fun runners who are up for a new type of challenge to help us raise funds for our work. We are taking over the Liverpool Pier Head and will be running on it… backward!
Two routes are available:
The Backward Fun Run/Walk – 500 meters for families and individuals, open to all ages. Registration fee is £5 per person over 14. Minimum sponsorship is £20 per person.
The Backward Challenge: One mile backward for individuals and teams over the age of 16. Registration fee is £10 per person. Minimum sponsorship is £50 per person.
There will be a prize for the race winners and the most successful fundraiser.

CLIC Sargent in Liverpool
· Last year 86 children in Liverpool were diagnosed with cancer.
· Last year CLIC Sargent supported 320 children and young people in Liverpool
· Children and young people from Liverpool who are diagnosed with cancer receive treatment at their local principal treatment centre (PTC) Alder Hey Hospital; young people can receive treatment at Clatterbridge Hospital and the Royal Liverpool Hospital.
There are three CLIC Sargent Social Workers at Alder Hey Hospital
There is one CLIC Sargent Specialist Nurse Key Worker[1] at Alder Hey Hospital
There is one CLIC Sargent Social Work Team Leader at Alder Hey Hospital
There is one CLIC Sargent Social Work Administrator at Alder Hey Hospital
· Liverpool – 145 CLIC Sargent Care Grants provided for families across Merseyside, at a cost of £24,578
