Not really the same is it? I mean the horses were put down after breaking a leg, their injuries didn't kill them, they were just no longer any use in a racing capacity.

I know mate, i was just making the point about the ridiculous over-reaction to things like this - a horse dies and the bandwagon reads, BAN THE NATIONAL and this terrible tragedy happens and her charity gets flooded with donations, why?

It's a nice guesture and people trying to do their bit for other people. Why be churlish about it by questionging people's motives and scoring points? Why not just go 'nice guesture lads, respect'.

To be honest, I find the reaction to this a bit more palatable than the Muamba reaction. I'm an athiest though so find a hard, cold donation a bit easier to stomach than a "you're in our thoughts and prayers". Just a shame it took something so horrid for people to dig into their pockets.
