City abuse Everton kid

A disabled eight-year-old ‘true Blue’ Everton fan who was allocated seats in the Manchester City side of the clubs' Capital One Cup semi-final clash was told by fans he ‘should have been drowned at birth’

His dad said the stewards ‘did nothing’ - and at one point, a fan tried to climb over the barrier to get to the father and son and was merely placed back in his seat by stewards.

First of all, if he was allocated seats in the City end what barriers would the City fans have to climb to get to 'father and son'?

Second, all fans in a wheelchair are put in neutral areas of the stadium, there are no barriers to climb and there is no segregation.

Third, the video shown involves shows a group of Everton fans in one half of our 'singing section' after they celebrated at 0-1 (it has zero relevance on the reported incident, true or false). It's impossible to get a wheelchair into that part of the stadium, could it be that video was used to dramatize a false story by any chance???

Bullshit reporting playing on a made up story most probably by a scumbag father looking for sympathy, simple as. If it was true (and if it was whoever did say it needs drowning himself) why the contradictory story?

Never realised Evertonians were Liverpool in blue.

errrr? journalism has never been the echos' forte mate

Got to admit it does sound a bit far fetched that multiple people would do this to a disabled kid at a match, a one off isolated incident maybe but the way it's reported makes it sound like loads of people did it for ages.... I have a hard time believing this but if it did happen it's appalling.

I dunno why but there's just something a bit off about it, maybe it's the shoddy echo journalism but I find it very hard to believe someone would have jumped over a barrier just to abuse a disabled kid.

Football fans can be scum but never in my life of going matches have I ever witnessed people abuse a disabled child, the thought of multiple people doing it over a sustained period of time with stewards ignoring it is, well....hmmm

dunno mate what do you think is really going on?
I think an outraged parent that got a slap after celebrating in the home end is using his sons disability for exposure. I have absolutely nothing to back my statement just like the bloke in the paper but there you go. The problem is every club with thousands of fans that are well behaved are always defined by a couple of morons.

One thing I will say, if any City fan has made any comment like that I hope they get what they deserve as it's disgusting.

Care to explain the contradictory statement? Why would City fans have to jump over a barrier if they're sat in the City end?

Because the ones involved are trying to get at him from another section.

There will be a chain of evidence of what happened.

Tickets were purchased from Everton.

Cctv footage from within Eastlands.

That will no doubt appear in due course

'Using his son's disability to get exposure'

I think some of you people on Blue Moon need to grow up.

You're playing to stereotypes.

How do you know what the father was doing?

You think all Everton fans are 'bin dippers' and all this sort of nonsense. In reality there are loads of EFC fans who are absolutely minted (like me). Who have to have loads of money to actually go to matches! I doubt his father needs exposure. Garston is hardly one of the poorest areas of Merseyside is it???

Disability section tickets are specially sold and allocated.

He says in the article clearly they were put in an area they weren't expecting having bought tickets direct from Everton.

The fact remain's. All the indications are someone within your club has attempted to have a go at a 8 year old child and father. All because they considered they were:

'sat in the wrong area and needed a slap'

Having been put in that area by MCFC.

I don't think father and son did anything to deserve what happened
Do you?
