Russia is just a big version of all eastern european countries. Absolutely beautiful in the centre of cities, utter ghettos around the outside and the rural areas are just there to Hostel westerners up for money.

Both of which are used to Hostel you. Do not be fooled. I've told the story of my mate in krakow last year. Long story short. Lured to an empty bar by 2 beautiful girls. Got forced to by drinks, one of which he was sure was laced with something as when he sipped it it tasted like 'dentist' so he didn't drink anymore, and was made to pay the equivelent of 80 quid for the drinks with 2 grocks breathing down his neck. Lucky, lucky escape.
