I can't undrestand why people put thier Christmas decs up so early. These people are always the first to take them down as well. Have any of you got into the spirit yet ? (Oh and not the alcohol type)

Driving about 2 weeks ago, just off Edge Lane there was a house full of lights and decorations on the outside, early novemeber is bad enough, but to add to the tackyness was about a 10 foot "you'll never walk alone" flashing away. Needless to say I cringed.

Loada fuss and stress over 1 day, plus people have gone far too materialistic and forgotton what Christmas is really about. Capitalist hotbed is Xmas

I agree w/ that.. Me persoanlly just love the season, magical in a way.. Good to get my daughter all amped up about it like my parents used to do with me..

We have a toy show on our national tv channel tonight. The kids get to see all the latest toys on the market mixed in with kids performing song and dance acts. Its been on since I was a kid and the nation loves it.We always put the decorations up that night and sit around the telly eating popcorn and sweets. Its the start of our Xmass but I have to admit its come a bit early this year.Decorations in November is strange.Love Xmass though.

I grew up Catholic and in my adult years became an evangelical Christian (as in not praying to the saints kind of Christian - just to illustrate the difference). But I have never, never, ever put up Christmas trimmings at home. No tree and tinsels. Never have. Never will.

When my kids were little, they used to get stacks and stacks of presents from relos. They were allowed to keep one and the rest given to charities. They're now young adults and teens and they have never associated Christmas with material things. They've never asked me for a Christmas present and likely never will.

To you young people out there, who will one day have kids, don't get them started. It is enough they know they are loved. And teach them to love others. It will hold them in good stead. :)
