TBF not like we’re doing anything meaningful in the league this year anyway so rather save our scheduling luck for a different season

i think if anyone thinks this is computer generated, this is the proof there isn't. Who are the two managers who have continually moaned and bashed the winter schedule since they've been here? Pep and Klopp, they're continually arguing for a winter break, why don't the schedulers grow some balls and give those who moan the worst schedule? What happened to bosses who didn't take any crap off anyone?

It's pretty simple to figure out the team that plays Friday of the first weekend is going to have above average rest. What's important is rest relative to your opponents and only Burnley get 1 day extra between their last game and when we play so it isn't that bad for us.

I really don't get the fixation about this. If we have the shortest breaks during the xmas period, then surely we are having a longer break both before and after?

Couldn't have said it better myself. Season starts and ends on same day (well ends on same day anyway) and same number of league games in between so it all evens out. Only exception is for cup runs but if you can't bite the bullet for a good cup run then you don't deserve one. Biggest factor here will be which teams pick up injuries to key players.

Without wanting to sound like a rs apologist, they played on Sunday evening and then again on Friday, giving Wolves the benefit of an extra day's rest, and all the other teams at least 1 more day.

I would be spitting feathers if we were trying to challenge the top spots like Spurs are though.

Mind you at least we get to enjoy the rs fall from grace over the most extended period possible at this festive time.
