Bought her tickets to go down to dat der London and watch The Eagles before lockdown. Postponed and ultimately cancelled.
So this year I've bought her tickets to go the pit and watch The Eagles. Overall a lot cheaper with no travel and no hotel required but still....going there.

Yeah, it's a bit weird. £200 from me, £200 from her at a time where you have to think of something you want an a specific time if year.
So collectively 400 down and just a new iPad to show for it.

See them any chance I get but there's absolutely no way I'm going there.
Been to marks and Spencers and got the good condiments for Xmas day lunch. Can't wait to see the joy on her face when she looks upon the table after her joyful day in the kitchen and realises we have quality cranberry sauce.
In all seriousness. We don't bother anymore. I think as you get older, you do realise the day is for kids. There is nothing either of us really needs, so why waste the money. We can buy each other little gifts at anytime, no point waiting for 1 day a year.
Saying that I do like Xmas. The tree, decorations, food, family, films and whatnot. Just the ? buying gets sacked off. Until recently we tended to buy an extra holiday instead. Both our birthdays are either side of Xmas. So instead of buying things we don't really want or need, we spend it on a week in the sun.
