Is there anyone apart from myself who is stuck in today whilst the majority of the country spends their last pennies on presents? If not how ar eyou spending Christmas eve before santa arrives with all your presents?

I'm not arsed about working today but the think tanks at our place has decided this year we can all go a couple hours earlier but it means we don't get a lunch break! Letter of the law and all, this is the first year they have implemented it so it will be a long day indeed today.

Oddest thing is, today is the one day there is **** all to do workwise because everyone is off!

I always have to work on Christmas eve (if a weekday) only get Chrimbo day, boxing day and New years day off... bah feckin humbug

coincidentally the boss is a kopite haha

Aparenty you need to work 6 hours for a break and they will let us go before that so no break.

Same as this. I have done absolutely **** all today though other than consume lots of food from Greggs, buy a couple of last minute presents and piss about on the internet.

I'm not even that arsed about going home early, at least if I leave it til a bit later the mrs will have tidied the place up, wrapped all the presents and got everything ready for tomorrow. So I'm avoiding doing any work at home whilst at work, but at the same time avoiding doing any work at work.

I echo this exactly, Apart from having to sort the turkey out, i always work to get out of the little chores. Know for a fact if i was sat in the house today i wouldn't be sitting for too long anyhow.Only ever taken 1 christmas eve off in 9 years so far, and that was to travel to the parents for christmas.

Again, same here, except I will bet my mrs has done feck all today while I have done feck all in work

I'm on a contract in Riyadh, so tomorrow is a normal working day. The hotel does sell no-alcohol Budwieser though, which I imagine is quite close to the genuine article. The good thing is knock-off time is 1600 local, so get to watch all our games on TV.

It's the school holidays for me but the wife works in retail so she is working flat out. No sooner do they force the doors shut on their wonderful last minute Chrimbo customers than they have to set things out for the sales starting Boxing Day.

If you are going shopping today, be nice out there.........
