Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right...
I prefer Christmas Eve to Christmas Day. I like Gin & Tonics while helping ( Interfering according to Mrs Degsy ) with all the preparations. It's the only time I drink the stuff.

What do other GOTers do, eat, drink, only on Christmas Eve.

But I'll be away for this one so I'll start on the G&T's now

The 24th is the main celebration day in most of Europe I believe. Certainly is in Czech, and it usually a good sized meal in the evening of carp and assorted goodies. Heading out there tomorrow morning, so that's what we'll be doing.

Apparently Christmas dinner should consist of nine courses including soup, bread with honey, carp, potato salad, fruit (dried, - fresh or canned), dessert (apple strudel or vánočka - Christmas bread), and other foods.

I'm not sure how strictly the in-laws abide by traditions, but we'll see.

I'm still in work and not due to finish til early afternoon on Xmas Eve, so I'm hardly getting into the mood just yet! I'm also then on stand-by from the 28th onwards, so bah sodding humbug!

I quite like Chrimbo Eve. The folks take the kids to a panto then out to lunch so I get a bit of me-time. Usually go to the local evening carol service with whoever feels like coming along then I get to play Santo when everyone is in bed..........

For years me and the lads got destroyed on Christmas eve at one lads dads house as he was always away. Not done it for 8-10 years, but one clever sole has resurrected it for this year at his new flat.. I'm the only unfortunate out of the 5 of us who has kids..

I don't think I can face the hang over and getting up at 6am..

I may have to pass on the offer.. *embarrassed*

In this house we do all the preparation for Christmas Day. Prep the dinner rec. Visit a few friends we won't get to see on Christmas Day, have an Ulster fry and settle in by the fire for a few drinks. Bailey s and Bushmills whiskey.
