Gives him the inscentive to go and earn a new one in the two years maybe? I dont like the idea of youngsters sitting on long contracts having not really establishing themselves.

think 2 year is hte normal unless they are something special.

No, Barkley signed a long term (4 & 1/2 years I think...) deal when he turned 18.
