Anyone who can't hack gravy with chips is not only missing out but is also incapable of ever fully comprehending the wonders of the Lobster Pot's Pie Dinner.

Chips and gravy? In a word, deffo. Whether the Goodison Supper Bar or the Blue Dragon, it's a must.

And the Canadian version, poutine? In a word, deffo. Again.

Its most definitely a north of Bristol / London thing.

Growing up in Liverpool is was the norm, coming down in London its considered freakish. Chips and gravy is one of the many things I look forward to on football weekends.

Although I was in Belfast a few months back and they were serving chicken breasts goujons, egg fried rice and gravy (mountains of it) which is wrong.

The Gravy on chips MUST be Onion Gravy

In both Australia and New Zealand they;
don't 'get' or use salt and vinegar, salt optional, you get asked everytime salt with these.
think that tomato sauce on chips is the height of culinary excellence

Having spent the odd time in Belgium I have a taste for salad cream on chips as well
