Chipping a wii

anyone know anything about doing this ? my mates is chipped, a bloke where he was working did it for him, he puts games on a flash drive and plugs it into the usb.

obviously it is so I can make backups should the disc get damaged, as golf doesn't work on wii sports due to abuse.

I could try and chip it. Its easier with a football....

I have one that has a soldered chip in. I think for a couple of years you've been able to do that by insterting a custom memory card or smth.
