Children in need

Good luck to all involved, but the difficult questions are never asked.

Why do we have to do this every year?

Why are children's services in health and social care massively underfunded?

If top earners payed all applicable tax, would we need charity at all.

I will chuck money into the bucket no problem, but I wish we all didn't have to.

Why do we have to do this every year?

Brits are suckers for charity basically. This, Comic Relief, Sport Relief, endless TV ads about adopting a penguin or a stoat, postcards from your dog pen pal, the list is endless.

As to why we HAVE to, as in, if we didnt, would all the penguins, kids, or whatever die? No. The charity industry is every bit as ruthless as the most ruthless commercial operation. They make their money via a massive guilt trip.

Now, not saying being charitable is bad. Not even a little bit. Just that it (the industry) aint as cuddly and wonderful as we are led to believe.

As a codicle to that ^^^^^. The army of small, independent, volunteer, local charities are exempt from it btw. They are just saints in the main.
