Calm
Up visiting my parents this weekend in Derbyshire and my old man managed to get tickets for this match.
BEST MATCH IVE SEEN IN AGES.
Chesterfield are top of league two and I'm a closet fan after watching them loads when i was younger living in the area (including the '97 cup run and epic semi against Juninho and Ravenelli's Middlesbrough).
This was my first visit to their new ground and it's ace. Perfect for a little club like Chesterfield after years of playing at the god awful Saltergate.
What an atmosphere tonight. A full house makes such a difference. This is about as close to a local derby you get round this part, and there were loads of 'Yorkshire' vs 'Derbyshire' chants and Chesterfield battered them.
Finished 5-0 and they deserved more. For a League Two team they kept the ball on the ground a treat, and in Jack Lester (he looks loads like our Timmy C) they have a goal threat like no other team in this league.
Great game that took me back to my youth.
Apart from the Rotherham fans trying to ruin it by kicking off worse than I've ever seen any fans kick off before. I'm talking kicking down hordings, police with truntions and actually battering fans. Never seen anything quite like it. Pretty scary stuff.
And to top it off, Colin Calderwood (Hibs manager) sat three seats down from me! He was scouting Rotherham's Adam Le Fondre...who was bad...very bad. He left way before the end...probably fearing for his life.
