I appreciate its not everybody's cup of tea, I also suspect this could be a talking to myself thread, but Cheltenham starts a week tomorrow and I really love it. Traditionally take the week off and watch all the racing in the pub with my pals.

I tend to have small wagers on big priced ones. As usual, my ante-post portfolio is a mix of good/bad news but lots of bookmakers are now going non-runner no bet, so there is a bit of value around.

Tuesday is Champion Hurdle day. I backed Un de Sceaux @ 25s at the beginning of the season, but noises coming out of the Mullins camp is that they will save it for next year. I'm kicking the day off with Un Ace @ 66-1 and Gilgamboa @ 33-1 in the Supreme. Not sure they will make it to post but interesting if they do. I have plenty on for the rest of the week and I'm interested if anybody else has the Cheltenham bug and any tips/fancies.

Have marked down Vautour for the supreme and my tent or yours in the champion hurdle.

Cannae wait. I also take the week off so will start it nicely with a cup quarter final then a whole week of drinking beer and gambling all my money away.

Mrs L wants me to take her to a posh meeting, Apparentky Poole dog track isnt good enough ffs.

Cheers for the tips @Eggs

Annie Power 2/1 on ladbrokes if any of you are interested. I never bet on races which have loads of horses in myself.

.......wouldn't call Cheltenham 'posh', BL. Mind you, suppose it depends which section you go in. I've been plenty, but much prefer sitting in the pub and watching. Less manic. Presuming you live on the South Coast, Goodwood is glorious. I'm sure Mrs L would love it there.

......the handicaps at Cheltenham are cavalry charges. Love having a tilt at them. Yep, Annie Power now confirmed for World Hurdle. Not my type of price but a worthy favourite based on her performances this year and Big Bucks getting turned over last time. Annie has never won over the distance, though. Rule The World is the one I like. I've also had a couple of quid each-way on Fingal Bay @ 25-1 (nrnb).

Got Irving at 25-1. Week paid for if he wins.

...that is a monster price. Love it when a big priced one gets backed off the boards. You need it to win now. Morning Assembly in RSA is the one that could pay for my week. I backed it @ 25s, and then again at 14s in a double with Rock on Ruby (Arkle) @ 16s. Its not as short as Irving, but is about 8s now.

I'm going to have a proper look this evening at what offers the betting sites are offering.

I think Paddy Power are offering your money backk if your horse finishes 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the supreme novices. Might be worth a few quid to risk that.

Some decent prices there, I got Calipto at 14-1. Also got Silviniaco Conti at 10-1 and The New One at 8-1 in a double.

....that a great price for Calipto. I really like tipster Ben Linford on Sporting Life website and he's really sweet on Calipto. I'm sure Silvinaco will come in for support in the Gold Cup. I've backed old stager The Giant Bolster in that @ 25s, I also like Captain Chris. Further Champion Hurdle declarations today - NTD very keen on the New One. My 25-1 shot Un de Sceaux is still in, but I expect it wont run. Supreme runners whittling down and my Gilgamboa @ 33s (now half that price) and Un Ace @ 66s (lower now) have stood their ground.

One to keep an eye on in the handicaps is Sraid Padraig. Tony Martin is a twisting **** and this hasn't run for 100 days but is entered in 3 handicaps. Worth a small ew investment with the NRNB rule.

...I note on the Betfair punters forum that they have organised a plunge on 3 selections. Clearly folk who have done a bit of research, they waited till 3.00pm and then announced the 3. The prices are actually still available with Paddy Power. Anyway, here they are;

Trifolium in the Arkle @ 5-1
Don Cossack in the RSA @ 14-1
Rule The World in the World Hurdle @ 10-1.

Rule the World is one of my ante-posts. Only thing that puts me off is that its an Irish horse and Paddy Power are a stand out. Regardless, I've had a patent on the 3. You never know.
