Said in a different post Zat that this doesn't seem to be on their agenda for whatever reason. Plus the kids themselves are given such lucrative contracts at a very young age (RLC was on £30k at 18, increased to £60k at 20 after a handful of first team appearances) that they don't ever seem to push for moves.
Nonetheless, I would like to see us test the waters this summer and put a bid in for Lewis Baker, currently on loan at Vitesse. If you ever catch England U21s in your part of the world you'll know who he is. He's exactly the type of player we need and his contract is up in 2 years. Can't see it myself but if Chelsea don't consider us competition we may have a slim chance. Player would probably need to push for it though.
As regards Abraham, he is doing well at Bristol as you say. Now he needs to be drip fed exposure to premier football to continue his development, but he won't get this at Chelsea. Similar to his mate at Chelsea, Dominic Solanke, they are 2 of the best English strikers in their age group (along with Armstrong from Newcastle and our own DCL). So why, with such good prospects waiting in the wings, are they supposedly prepared to pay £40m for Celtics Dembele?
If I was betting man, I would say that, despite not being technically as good as the two Chelsea lads, DCL has a better chance of making it at the top level simply because he is with Everton as opposed to Chelsea.
