I agree, it was horrible...but I'd say we've got the better players to play better football. They basically did a Moyes - 04 on them today with a gash squad of players. They needed a result and got it.
It seems more of a case of...play your football when you can, but when you cant..try and find a way to win from my perspective anyway.
The RS did that today. But they didnt last week against Stoke at home when they played 3 at the back. Swings and roundabout and points on the board.
Maybe, but lets have it right, when Moyes started with no strikers the other week and played Cahill on his own we were all aghast at the negativity of it. Dalglish just went with Kuyt as the lone striker and left Suarez and N'Gog on the bench. Let's be consistent here, regardless of the nicked goal, that was just as worthy of criticism.
That was down to Moyes having zero faith in his strikers and letting the top goalscorer have a go up front rather than being negative...he was figuring out how we can score goals.
And I've never had a go at Moyes for being ultra negative against a United, a Chelsea or an Arsenal etc because more likely or not we'd get turned over if we went gun-ho.
And as I've said...the RS have a squad full of mediocre players so you can only do so much. So while the game today was pretty dire, they didnt really have much choice if they wanted some points out of it.
Us on the other hand...can go toe-to-toe with someone like Chelsea with the players we have IMO. We tend to just blow our own feet off when we look good.
It really does do my box in seeing them lot far above us.
I think that's been way overplayed, tbh. They have very handy players that can attack from midfield and they have a striker with a great record in front of goal that they paid £23M for. They chose to go narrow and deep to stifle the life out of that game and left their forwards on the bench.
It came off for them and King Kenny the Dour will get all the plaudits as a master tactician. Criminal.

They'll all say the homosexual is a tactical genius for today's ultra negative containment tactics away to the current champions but they'll be complaining like proper ****ehawks next time a team they consider "inferior" goes to the tin mine and parks the bus like that.
Besides a decent run when Chelsea was interested Torres has been crap for over a year. Anelka is a better striker.
If Chelsea play like that in the FA cup against us we'll win 3-1.
