Cheese appreciation society

Anybody got any good ones they've tried recently ? Trying to broaden my cheese horizons. Big fan of cheddar myself but had mixed results getting good mature cheddar from the big supermarkets.

If you like smoked cheese, a company called truckle do some excellent smoked cheddar that you can order on the interweb. Quite like cambozola, blue brie. I'd recommend it.

I've dabbled a few times, up to now it's only been those average cheese packs you tend to get at Christmas but i'm sick of the boring stuff you get in normal shops.

That was my intention mate, seemed weird there wasn't a proper cheese thread ! Smoked cheddar sounds interesting i'll have a look mate.

Had some of that at Leeds this weekend actually, nice that this one stall had an option for your burger other than the normal cheddar.

A Camembert rubbed with garlic and baked in its box. Eat hot with Crusty bread.

Do you get ALDI over in England? Some fine cheeses at a reasonable price in their store. A WATER biscuit with a nice Brie and a mug of real coffee is a fine thing.

Lancashire is best for cheese on toast

My uncle always gets some kind of Lancashire out when i go and see him, he's mad for cheese.

Leerdammer (not pre sliced), Cambazola, any cheese that is flavoured with Chili, and Applewood smoked cheese.

Oooh yeah, Applewood is nice.

At Christmas, we do feta and mozzarella wrapped in salmon and steamed.

When I was last in Italy back in 96, it was a mountain town, right up on the Swiss boarder. They have these places called CROTTOS - cheese eateries dug into the mountain. Unreal nosh. Big slabs of local cheese made there and crusty bread with as much wine as you can drink. Actually all the nosh is Italy is tops that's why all those hawt birds over there get all fat and past it by 30.
