Where about are you from? Virginia, USA. Just across the Potomac from Washington DC. The Old Dominion. Our state motto: Sic Semper Tyrannis
How did you find these forums? Lurked a number of fan sites and liked GOT the best.
How did you become an Evertonian? Been a football fan since I started kicking a size 3 ball around when I was 7. My skills peaked three years later. Used to watch the Washington Diplomats play at RFK stadium in the late 70s/early 80s. I think the fans consumed more weed than beer back then. Good times! But the NASL overreached in trying to position the league as the new NFL and it folded in 84. DC got a team back in 95 when the United came to town. MLS is decent football but, to be honest, can be tedious at times. If you’ve ever watched I think you might agree that the brand is solid at the midfield but lacks creativity in the final 25 yards/around the net. So fans stateside have to look internationally to find top quality play. I started to take notice of Everton when Joe-Max moved to Goodison in 99, then again with McBride, Landon some years later and of course Tim. The American connection, Prince Rupert’s Tower, the history of Goodison, the strong ties between the town and its club, the passion of the fan base. When Fox Soccer stated its Premiership coverage in 2012, it was an easy decision which club to follow.
Your all-time favourite Everton player? Tim Cahill
Your current favourite player? Toss up between Leighton and Romelu. Noticed Luk when he was with West Brom and was over the moon when he was signed on loan a year ago. Very excited for the future now that he is under contract. He will do great things in blue.
Pineapple on Pizza, Is it socially acceptable? What are your views? Tried it once during the California-style pizza craze. It was awful.
