Cheap Laptops

Ok, I am in need of a real cheap PC laptop, that is running XP. All I need it for is so I can run Internet Explorer 6 and 7. That's it.

Any ideas?
 

... you should be able to find one for that price no problem

my macbook costs less than that (i believe it was around 2000 american, minus all the bells and whistles), and as macs tend to be a bit higher priced, you shouldn't have any trouble finding one that runs xp.

thats a good place to start, and you can probably find even cheaper laptops if you look at smaller brands like toshiba
 
that is cheap - what are you expecting to run besides XP? do you know the minimum requirements for XP? best bet is picking up a broken laptop from ebay and fixing it. you can get some decent deals on bare bones laptops, just means no extras like cd drives and massive hdds.

2000 american sounds a lot, a ton in english is just £100. its a meager amount, it looks like second hand market stuff (which should be ok) but risk problems with wear on mouse pad thing - and battery/power issues.
 
scratch that, it was around 1600 hundred american, and that was with upgraded RAM and a 3 year warranty, plus i got an iPod for free

ohhh my bad, definitely misunderstood there haha, i was thinking 2000

what the hell does my bad mean? Is that another American term? I just keep hearing it over here, and it just sounds stupid to come out of English accents. But it also makes no sense. Say my mistake or my error.

All I need to do is test websites on IE6 and IE7.

yea its an american term, means to accept blame or fault (i was the one who committed the bad action)
