LTD company
200-300 transaction per year, relatively high value
80% export, EU and worldwide

THey do get the job don and have helped me out in the past. I am happy to stay with them but feel they may be charging me 1-2k+ over the odds.
If it's a Ltd company and you take any kind of salary, they are doing RTI filings and have had to deal with the pensions regulator.
If the 200-300 is purely sales and purchases, there are also expense transactions to consider.
Depends how you send them the info if it's not cloud based.
If not cloud based, full listing of Sales and Purcases (2 spreadsheets is good) a csv download of the company bank/credit card/paypal or whatever statements means they are able to manipulate data rather than input it - obviously quicker and therefore cheaper but would be surprised if it brought it down by the amounts you've indicated.
Talk to them and ask if there is any way you can present the info to make their life easier and therefore less costly to you.
Just my thoughts.
Cheers

Maybe ask them about getting your own cloud software subscription and inviting your accountant in as a user, I imagine that would reduce spreadsheet type work at least?

Likely they'd have a preferred provider and already know their way around it, note it looks like you're likely to need a 'Premium' version if you are dealing in other currencies though.

THanks for your advice

As you say, preferred provider in all probability so for the likes of QBO will get a permanent discount not available to a one off customer normally, so it is possible if already in the cloud it could end up costing more unless the accountant is making a profit on it.

Yeah, as a direct user at best you'll get a few months promo code, if they are a Partner they'll have a Partner discount.

Although at our place we have a blend of both, I know with our software the Partner still gets "points" for being invited into Direct subs, I think there's something in it for them either way.
