God bless you and your naivety my friend ha ha .

its true fella a mate of my cousin works as a guard and the prisoners do know their "human rights" believe me when he was down for my cousins wedding he told me a few tales of inmates giving the mouth and refusing to comply and he couldnt do too much about it of course you get a few incidents of the guards giving them the business but not as common as it used to be same as the police too much paperwork if someone lodges a complaint

Just for conversations sake mate,,, and purely as a reasoned question,,,,, where do you stand on the violence prison guards are known to give out in retribution to said offenders...... not spur of the moment violence but suited up officers giving out controlled, sustained beatings when the prisoner is grossly outnumbered usually at a ratio of 6 or 8 to 1.................... and believe me, it really does happen.

cowardly, especially if it is done for payback

At least they are trained to deal with people like that.. Unlike train guards...
Edit.. Most wont get that.. Sorry.

the guards, having got wise to the paperwork, now ask the 'top dog' inmates to hand out the beatings, while the guards repay the favour by turning a blind eye to other illicit activities of the 'top dogs'

It's all kicking off now between Charles Bronson and the ISIS lids on HMS Full Sutton:

Charles Bronson in prison bust-up with Islamic extremists who warned 'We'll cut off your head'

Britain's most notorious prisoner has clashed with fellow inmates over their late-night praying - but Bronson's brother is not worried for his safety

Jailed Charles Bronson got in an argument with Islamic extremists who told him “We’ll cut your head off”, his brother has revealed.
Britain's most notorious prisoner was threatened after he told them to shut up because they were being noisy in HMP Full Sutton.
Bronson's brother Mark Peterson said: "He's been having some verbals and they threatened to cut his head off.
"I'm not sure how it started but they were up all night praying and kept him awake so there was some verbal."

He said the hardman told them to "pipe down."

"There were some threats made by these prisoners," Mark said.
The ex-naval policeman insisted he was not worried about his brother.
"They will never see each other so they will never get the chance to confront each other," the dad-of-two said.

Bronson converted to Islam after marrying his now estranged wife Saira Ahmed in 2001, even changing his name to Ali Ahmed.
He has since denounced the religion.
"He can handle himself okay for a 61-year-old man," he said.
Mark is hopeful his brother will get out of jail.

"We are waiting on a date for an appeal," he said.

"It should have happened. Your guess is as good as mine as to when it will be. It's so frustrating."

Bronson has been inside for 40 years.
He was caged for seven years for armed robbery in 1974 but has remained behind bars ever since.

"He should get released on tag," Mark said. "At least he'll be out. The world has changed since he was last a free man.
"People have been stopping me in the street and saying, 'Do you think he does not want to get out?'
"But that's nonsense. He's 61 and wants to come out and enjoy the rest of his life."
The brothers' mum Eira, from Aberystwyth, is now 84.

"She's not in the best of health," Mark said. "I don't think he will get out on parole. The only way he will get out is on appeal.

"If he loses that then we will take it to the European Court of Human Rights."

Bronson wants to appeal over the sentence he received for kidnapping teacher Phil Danielson.
"When he was sentenced in 1999 after he took Phil Danielson he had a four-year-tariff on his life sentence so long as he kept his nose clean," Mark said.
"Which he did. But he is now ten years over his tariff."
Mark has his "fingers crossed" his brother's appeal bid will be successful.
Bronson has now changed his surname from Bronson to Salvador to get away from his violent reputation.
He was born Michael Peterson.
"Prison officers come and go but they never forget," Mark said.

Is/was he the world record holder for press ups in an hour or some fabled rubbish?
Got to admit his sit in on the roof in Manchester was a bit on the funny side.
