As a break from the endless relegation torture we are all enduring I thought I'd try and mug you all for some money for charity! (Mods - I've checked with the boss, he said it's OK)

Next month, 16th -18th June, I'll be cycling from the Bannister Prentice Community Stadium (home of my local non-league team, Garforth Town AFC, the Mighty Miners) to the site of our new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock. The route I'm taking is about 150 miles and a proper cyclist would probably do it in a day but because I'm a middle aged man who isn't a proper cyclist I'm going to do it over three days.

I'm raising money for a charity called Zarach, who provide beds and bedding to underprivileged kids who have often never had one of their own. You might have seen them on the TV or heard them on the radio, I have to confess I had no idea how widespread this issue was and I think it shows how desperate the situation is in this country when working people can't afford bedframes for their kids.

If anyone is interested the link is here to learn more and/or make a donation - https://www.justgiving.com/page/kei...are&utm_term=ddd945482d754d2da0615f7fd425ed8e

I know times are tough for everyone so please only donate if you can afford to do so.

If anyone fancies riding along at any point I'll be doing Garforth - Skipton on day 1, Skipton - Chorley day 2, and Chorley - BMD day 3. DM me and I'll let you know the where's and when's.

TL:DR I'm riding my bike from Yorkshire to BMD to raise money to buy beds for underprivileged kids. Giz your money!

Good for you mate

Lots of hills between Skipton and Chorley 👌

I did the c2c a while back for charity and it was brilliant.

I'll be mainly on the Leeds Liverpool canal and there are a few lock systems but, hopefully, it shouldn't be too hilly! I've been thinking about the Hornsea to Southport c2c, is that the route you took? How challenging is it?

Just wanted to thank everyone who has donated, you guys have been incredibly generous. I won't name names, except @Bungle who left a message that was a study in brevity and class, and invoked some vivid imagery.

I am also shamelessly bumping this to try and raise more money for a charity who buy beds for kids who the Tories have left in the crap (link above if anyone is interested) and to tap into some post-relegation survival euphoria.

As before, please only donate if you can afford to do so.

UTFT!

More chugging and this time you get to see my holiday pictures too!

49.5 miles and in still in chuffing Yorkshire and I still have over 90 miles to Liverpool!
