There is zero rationale for it that I can see.The turning one is absolute nonsense. If I'm turning left and there's a bike to my right I would be expecting him to go straight on.
Carnage. How many points is it for a cyclist these days? ?
When turning left i definitely don't check my blind spot on the rear left of the car. It's a ridiculous rule, hope we don't follow suit here.Number 5 is the worst one. So now if you're turning left and a cyclist races up the inside and smashes in to the side of your car it's your fault. It's also seemingly safe to drive within 30cm of the car either side like in the photo. What happens when a car swerves to avoid one of the many pot holes and takes one out?
Mindless.
Imagine the amount of "outraged" videos getting posted online when a car passes them 4.9 feet away after they've held up traffic for 30 km'sAnd they aren't insured...
I can only imagine the thing about not using cycle lanes is to account for obstructions (including parked cars and gaggles of idiots. not least parents prams, horse riders or gangs of school kids), broken surfaces or if the cyclist needs to turn off down a side street and it's easier to leave from the road than the cycle path.Spend hundreds of millions building cycle lanes (a good thing) then add this rule...(number 4)
Cycling two abreast so you cannot over take for miles on end.....why, so they can have a chin wag??

I used to get it in London all the time. I used to drive tight against the kerb to force them to go the other side. When turning left i definitely don't check my blind spot on the rear left of the car. It's a ridiculous rule, hope we don't follow suit here.
Yeah, this is it. If I'm in the car I try not to be a tit. If I'm on a bike I try not to be a tit.Imagine the amount of "outraged" videos getting posted online when a car passes them 4.9 feet away after they've held up traffic for 30 km's
Even though i bag cyclists out i do actually ride my bike on the road occasionally even though I'm hesitant to sometimes since most drivers are tits as well. It's the lycra clad brigade that i can't stand.Yeah, this is it. If I'm in the car I try not to be a tit. If I'm on a bike I try not to be a tit.
